Ah, thanks! Yes, I see that transition and I see the emissions happening there before the first transition.
So, the User’s Guide doesn’t specify exactly what should happen with regards to emissions between the baseline year and the first transition. The development build below interprets this as that there will be no disturbances until the first transition, which means that the emissions raster will be all-0 until the first transition. Carbon will accumulate, however, it just isn’t disturbed and therefore won’t be emitted until a transition that disturbs the carbon stocks.
