Hi all,
I am working to assess coastal vulnerability along the northern coast of Cambodia and am struggling to determine an appropriate protection distance for my habitat (mangroves) and need help!
I know the distance can be quite variable, and it is tough to pin down a good number here because you can only put in a single protection distance. Based on the image below, do you think the distance of 15,970m is an appropriate protection distance? The distance is obtained from the two points connected by the blue line, representing how far inland the mangroves (lime green) go inland from shore.
I am not sure this is an appropriate distance to use, because in the example data, the inVEST team wrote the protection distance of mangroves in the Bahamas to be 2000m and seagrass to be 500m, which is significantly shorter. Perhaps I am understanding the data requirement wrong?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
