Seasonal water yield: how many years of climate data?

Hello, I have a question regarding how many years it needs to calculate the SWY because I understand it is to obtain the water year considering the seasonal effects. I tried the model by considering 30 years for precipitation and temperatures. Is it a good idea, or do you recommend calculating only per year?

Best!

Hi @Isabel -

Yes, we do recommend using long-term average annual data for the Seasonal Water Yield model. This includes long-term annual averages of precipitation and evapotranspiration on a monthly basis, which produces average monthly values of quickflow. You could do something like divide those 30 years into 3 10-year periods, if you want to look for trends over time.
