Some questions about the output results of the water yield

Hello experts.
I am using the water yield module for estimation of water production and the whole process is going smoothly without reporting errors. But I have the following doubts:

  1. Is it correct that the estimation is done in millimeters? But even so it seems to be very large, is there something wrong with some of the raster data entered?
  2. The spatial resolution of the input raster data is 1 km, but the spatial resolution of the output is 30 m. Is this normal?
I would like to hear from you, thank you!

Hi @littlepencil -

Yes, the wyield.tif output is in millimeters, so represents a depth of water, not a volume. First, a reminder that the model is based on calculations that should be interpreted at the (sub)watershed scale, so we don’t advise using the per-pixel values for anything but looking at patterns. As for the large values, remember that the model is pretty simple, essentially (precipitation - evapotranspiration). You’re starting with a LOT of precipitation (between 4 and 23 meters/year!), and only a small portion of that is being lost to evapotranspiration (466-703mm), so I’m not surprised that the output values are large.

The resolution of the output rasters should be the same as your land use/land cover input, as noted in the User Guide. Does that layer have 30m resolution?
