Wind wave shapefile preparation

Hi all,

I am trying to prepare the wind-wave shapefile for input into the Coastal-vulnerability model.
Since my AOI is out of the coverage of wave watch iii shapefile provided by Invest i am trying to built my own. I have obtained wind data that include different parameters such as eastward and northward wind speed and wind stress. I have never used this kind of data before, nor I have any experience with wind-wave modeling, so my question is whether I can use this parameters to calculate the information required to built the shapefile (i.e. wind speed in the 16 equiangular sectors)?

Any information is valuable!
