About the default value of *Max L Value* in the SDR model

Hello everyone, I would like to ask about the default value of Max L Value in the SDR model, it seems that the instruction manual does not mention it.

Hi @Ray,

It might have recently been updated, but you can find a short description of that input here in the Data Needs section: https://storage.googleapis.com/releases.naturalcapitalproject.org/invest-userguide/latest/sdr.html#data-needs.

Maximum L Value (number, required): The maximum allowed value of the slope length parameter (L) in the LS factor. Values of that exceed this are thresholded to this value. Its default value is 122 but reasonable values in literature place it anywhere between 122-333 see Desmet and Govers, 1996 and Renard et al., 1997.

Cheers,

Doug

Thank you, it seems I need to download an up-to-date user manual.

Yea, we often update our Users Guide when we receive helpful feedback through the forums. We’ll update the Users Guide if it does not reflect the currently released InVEST version or could better explain something for that version. Accessing the Users Guide from the website InVEST | Natural Capital Project will always provide the latest Users Guide version.

Cheers,

Doug
