Annual Water Yield Brazil - Depth To Root Restricting Layer and Plant Available Water Content

Greetings,
I’m doing research at the central region of Brazil, more specificly trying to process the Annual Water Yield. The biggest issue I’ve found is to acquire two specific data inputs, Depth to root restricting layer and plant available water content. After observing the example data from the model, I realised that both these inputs are somehow correlated, should I use a soil dataset to process both these layers or just keep trying to find the raster to download it, I believe that the reference recommended doesn’t attend to my study area, please help.

Hello @lucasabudm -

The User Guide chapter for Annual Water Yield has a Data Sources appendix that provides information about global sources for soil data, particularly ISRIC SoilGrids. SoilGrids covers much of the world, so I do recommend looking into it.

For plant available water content in particular, we have already processed ISRIC data into a global dataset, which is available through the NatCap Data Hub, There, you can download the dataset, clipped to your area of interest and reprojected to your project’s coordinate system.

FYI @lucasabudm the data hub is back online, and you’ll find some layers there that might be relevant for your study.

Thanks!
