I wonder if it is possible to calculate wyield_volume as land cover type.

Yes, you can sum the water yield pixel results by land cover type, or watershed, or administrative boundary. Just remember that sometimes an LULC type or watershed will have a high or low value only because the area is large or small. So you might also consider calculating the water yield per hectare (or other area measure).
