Urban Stormwater Retention (USR) zero retention value output

What is the issue or question you have?

Each time I run the USR model, the retention value raster results in zero.

What do you expect to happen?

I expect the retention value raster to result with a value.

What have you tried so far?

I tried adjusting the retention radius to 1 and zero. I also turned the retention radius option off. I also corrected the biophysical table’s water sources to zero according to the manual instructions.

Hello @ARiggs, thanks for providing your input datastack!

Given your inputs, the issue here is that your precipitation raster only has non-zero values on certain pixels, and these are the pixels that ultimately have a nonzero calculated value of stormwater retention. The model doesn’t do any interpolation of precipitation values, so you will want to be sure to have nonzero precipitation pixel values on all of the pixels for which you would like to have a calculated stormwater retention value.

As you can see in this screenshot, the vast majority of the pixel values of your precipitation raster are 0.0 (dark color), and a select few pixels have nonzero precipitation values (light color).

Once you’ve fixed this in your input issue, I’d expect the model to have much more interesting spatial outputs.

Please let us know how this goes!

Good morning, James.

Thank you for the feedback!

I created new precipitation rasters and made sure there weren’t any non-zero values, and it worked!

Thanks again for your help with this!

Amanda

Great, glad to hear it’s working now! I’ve marked your answer as the solution in case others encounter this same issue in the future.
