"Visitation" model issue: process stuck at "Please wait for server to calculate PUD" stage

Hello everyone,

I am trying to use the InVEST “Visitation: Recreation and Tourism” model, but I have encountered a problem while running it. When I start the process, everything seems to start correctly, but the program gets stuck in the “Please wait for server to calculate PUD” phase and does not go further.

I have tried to relaunch the process several times, but the result is always the same. I have also checked the input data, and everything seems to be configured correctly. Has anyone had similar experiences or can suggest a solution to this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Giuseppe13 , depending on the size of your area of interest, the number of polygons it contains, and the density of geotagged photographs in that area, the PUD calculations may take seconds, minutes, or hours. How long have you waited? Try running the sample data to get a sense of how that area of interest compares to your own.

The calculations take place on a cloud-hosted server, so while it may seem like your computer is not doing anything, things are still happening.

The next version of invest will have more logging so you can see the progress of the server calculations while you wait.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your response.
That is exactly the case—the long processing time was due to the very small cell size (I had set a grid of 100x100m). I appreciate your support.

Best regards.
