InVEST 3.13.0 crashes on macOS 10.12


I managed to install InVEST on my Mac but when I try to open the app, the logo appears for a few seconds at the start before disappearing and the app crashes.

Has anyone faced this issue ?

Hi @leaz , thank you for reporting this issue here. Could you please look in the following folder for any files with a .log extension and upload them here?

/Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/invest-workbench/logs

After that, you could also try following these steps:

  1. shut down the Workbench
  2. check your Activity Monitor to make sure there are no leftover processes running with names like “InVEST …” or “invest”. “Force quit” them if you find any.
  3. Delete this folder: /Users/<your username>/Library/Application Support/invest-workbench
  4. Open the Workbench again

I’m not sure if anyone has tried running this software on macOS 10.12 before. That is a fairly old version of macOS that Apple stopped supporting in 2019. So I don’t think we can guarantee that InVEST will run on that operating system, but we’ll do our best.
